Stages Repertory Theatre is currently presenting the regional première of Lauren Gunderson's I and You, winner of the 2014 ATCA/Steinberg New Play Award and a Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist.

The story of the unexpected meeting between high schoolers Anthony and Caroline, brought together by an American Lit class project about Walt Whitman, I and You is a "quick-witted mashup of poetry and punchy slang, adolescent uncertainty and profound beauty," as Stages describes it.

I and You runs through May 22nd.

Cast members Melissa Molano and Mateo Mpinduzi-Mott talk with Houston Public Media's St.John Flynn about the play, and it's shocking ending.
