Poet and essayist, Amanda Auchter, was born in Baytown, Texas.  Growing up along the Gulf Coast gave her a deep love and appreciation of a city down the shore – New Orleans, Louisiana.  Her book, The Wishing Tomb, is her love letter to New Orleans, as well as a journey through its history, starting in 1697 and ending in 2010 with the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill
