Poet and memoirist Nick Flynn is a Professor in the University of Houston's Creative Writing Program, where he is in residence each spring. He splits his time between Houston and Brooklyn. Here, he reads his poem "Pulse (Hidden Bird)" from his 2011 collection, The Captain Asks for a Show of Hands.
