Video: Helping Adults With Disabilities Through Art

A local art therapy program breaks down the barriers of expression.

Celebration Company is a program, offered through Houston’s Jewish Family Service, that helps adults with disabilities develop social and vocational skills to aid in employment and life management. Nicole Longnecker Gallery recently hosted an exhibition of paintings and photography produced by the participants of Celebration Company’s Center for Art and Photography. Program director Jamie Weiner talks about how art helps the participants break down the barriers of their disabilities.

The segment will air during the March 25 broadcast of Arts InSight, at 8:30pm on TV 8.
