There may be no more quintessentially American composer of the 20th century than George Gershwin.

The performer most celebrated for bringing him to life in the 21st century is a Canadian named Hershey Felder. The Alley Theatre brings the actor, playwright and pianist and his popular one man show George Gershwin Alone to the University of Houston's Wortham Theatre in performances continuing through June 21.

Felder joins Houston Matters’ Maggie Martin in Houston Public Media’s George B. Geary performance studio to discuss and play some of Gershwin’s music.
