Known for his 1989 Booker Prize-winning novel The Remains of the Day and the 2005 Never Let Me Go, both turned into blockbuster movies, Kazuo Ishiguro ranks today as one of the literary world’s top authors writing in English (in 2008 The Times of London named him among “The 50 greatest British writers since 1945”).

His seventh novel, The Buried Giant, the first in ten years, has just been published by Alfred A. Knopf and this evening Ishiguro reads from the book in the Wortham Center’s Cullen Theatre as part of Inprint’s Margarett Root Brown Reading Series.

Kazuo Ishiguro speaks by phone with Houston Public Media’s St.John Flynn about his latest work.
