Since being confirmed the eleventh Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, Jane Chu has been making a case to increase federal funding for the arts. She’s been crisscrossing the country to get a sense of how cities use the arts to improve society, and last month she made a stop in Houston where she visited several local arts organizations.

She said, when it comes to the arts, the Bayou City truly “gets it.”
