The Aperio: Music of the Americas ensemble continues its season this weekend with a program of North and South American music written for cello and piano.  The recital, titled Heroic Measures, features works by Samuel Barber and Lukas Foss and also by Astor Piazzolla and Marlos Nobre.

Aperio artistic director and pianist Michael Zuraw and cellist Daniel Saenz talk with Houston Public Media’s St.John Flynn about Sunday afternoon’s recital.

[The music heard in this interview is by Samuel Barber (an excerpt from the second movement of his cello sonata) and Marlos Nobre (from the first and third of his Tres Cantos de Iemanjá) performed in the Geary Studio by Michael Zuraw and Daniel Saenz, recorded by audio engineer Todd Hulslander.]
