If youâve driven in Midtown lately, youâve probably been distracted by the newly created âbiggest mural in Houston.â Itâs a painting spanning five stories across an 8,000-square-foot wall of a building at 2800 San Jacinto.
The mural is an homage to Michelangelo’s famous fresco, “The Creation of Adam.” But, instead of reaching out to touch the hand of Adam, God is holding a can of spray paint.
The piece’s creator, French graffiti artist Sebastien Boileau — who goes by the name âMr. Dâ — tells Houston Public Mediaâs Ernie Manouse the mural and its location are meant to reinforce the importance of public art.
You can learn more about the project on Arts InSight, Thursday July 3, at 7 p.m. on Houston Public Media, TV 8.
