Valerie Hartzell On The 2014 “Classical Minds” Guitar Festival

The director talks about the 11th annual guitar festival and performs.

Guitarist Valerie Hartzell organized the first “Classical Minds” Guitar Festival, part of the annual Texas Music Festival at the University of Houston, eleven years ago. Now firmly established and thriving, the 6-day event, which opens today, June 10th, attracts students of all ages and renowned faculty from college and university guitar programs all around the state.

Valerie Hartzell came into the Geary Studio to talk with Houston Public Media’s St.John Flynn about the guitar festival and perform pieces by Agustín Barrios and Francisco Tárrega.
