Chamber Music Month: Ars Lyrica’s Baroque Wedding Feast

Matthew Dirst talks about some of the most popular wedding tunes ever.

Ars Lyrica Houston rounds out its 2013-14 season with a concert performance titled A Baroque Wedding Feast.   It’s described as “a program of springtime Baroque favorites, including two gorgeous Bach wedding cantatas featuring soprano Meghan Lindsay, Pachelbel’s beloved Canon and Gigue in D Major, and a rollicking Telemann suite.”

Ars Lyrica artistic director, Matthew Dirst, sits down with Houston Public Media’s St.John Flynn to sample some of the delights to be presented on the concert.

Ars Lyrica’s A Baroque Wedding Feast is Friday, May 9th, 8PM, in the Hobby Center’s Zilkha Hall, downtown.
