Opera in the Heights closes its 2013-14 season with Donizetti’s famed Lucia di Lammermoor. Premiered in 1835 in Naples, the opera is called a dramma tragico and is based on Sir Walter Scott’s historical novel The Bride of Lammermoor.

As with all their productions, Opera in the Heights has double-cast this production and both Lucias, Amanda Kingston and Jessica Jones (who both received their Masters degree from the UH Moores School of Music), and artistic director Enrique Carreón-Robledo talk about the production with Houston Public Media’s St.John Flynn.
