“The Planets: An HD Odyssey,” the first of the Houston Symphony’s multimedia experiences, pairs NASA images of the planets of the solar system with Holst’s famous suite of the same name.  “Earth: An HD Odyssey,” the other element of this weekend’s concerts at Jones Hall, presents images of our planet taken from NASA’s space shuttle and space station missions set to John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Richard Strauss’ tone poem Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Listen to Houston Symphony Music Director Designate, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, talk about the performances he’ll be leading this Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
