Houston Ballet’s Jubilee of Dance

Houston Ballet's annual Jubilee of Dance takes to the stage of the Wortham Center's Brown Theatre tonight, for one night only.  This year's Jubille celebrates Stanton Welch’s 10th anniversary as Artistic Director and features the full company in Welch's re-imagining of Marius Petipa's classical showpiece Paquita.  Houston Ballet's Andrew Edmonson talks about the Jubilee of Dance with St.John Flynn

Instituted by Stanton Welch when he began his tenure as Houston Ballet’s artistic director 10 years ago, the annual Jubilee of Dance offers the audience to experience the entire company of dancers and revisit some old favorites from the company’s repertoire, plus see some new work.

As Andrew Edmonson, Houston Ballet’s Director of Public Relations & Marketing, explained to St.John Flynn, this year’s Jubilee also pays tribute to long-time principal dancer Mireille Hassenboehler who retired earlier this fall after a 21-year career with the company.
