Timothy Greenfield-Sanders: “The Out List”

World-renowned portrait photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders spoke about his project "The Out List," an acclaimed documentary, along with a portrait series, of celebrities who have gone public with their homosexuality. The portraits are on view at Hiram Butler Gallery through November 30.

Timothy Greenfield-Sanders has photographed celebrities of all stripes, from presidents to porn stars. His current portrait series “The Out List” focuses on those that have chosen to publicly acknowledge their LGBT status in several facets of society, including the entertainment industry, law enforcement, politics, religion and professional sports. Houston Public Media’s Troy Schulze spoke with Greenfield-Sanders about the project, his process and the recent passing of his dear friend Lou Reed.
