Restoration Chamber Music

Restoration Chamber Music fills some of Galveston's historic spaces with the sounds of American music. "Samuel Barber at the 1838 Menard House" is the theme of their first American Voices concert of the summer, and soprano Cynthia Clayton, cellist Brinton Averil Smith and pianist Evelyn Chen perform excerpts from the program for us!

Restoration Chamber Music presents concerts at historically-significant sites on Galveston Island. The series was co-founded by cellist Evan Leslie … along with Houston Symphony Principal Cellist, Brinton Averil Smith, and his wife, concert pianist, Evelyn Chen. They and soprano Cynthia Clayton and pianist Timothy Hester (both faculty-artists from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music) got together in the Geary Performance Studio with Catherine Lu.
