The Front Row – Lone Star Lyric Theater Festival

Cast members from the Lone Star Lyric Theater Festival return to the KUHF studio to perform numbers from their original old-time variety show, The Radio Opera Hour, and Gian-Carlo Menotti’s one-act opera, The Old Maid and the Thief. Both pieces are part of this year’s Lyric Theater Festival, which opens tonight at the Ovations Night Club in Rice Village…

There are two performances: tomorrow night  and Sunday afternoon at Ovations. The 2010 Lyric Theatre Festival’s OTHER program, including The Radio Opera Hour and also the world première of Sorry, Wrong Number, a new opera by Houston composer, Michael Remson … based on Lucille Fletcher’s 1943 radio-noir suspense thriller … will be presented tonight and Saturday at Ovations. Tickets for all performances will be available at the door.
