Today, we meet actor-singers, Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey, who play the budding young writer, Laura Ingalls, and her future husband, Almanzo Wilder, in the national-touring production of Little House on the Prairie — The Musical, being presented at the Hobby Center through Sunday only, by Theatre Under The Stars

Lauren Ciobanu, who’s concluding her first season as a member of Houston Ballet‘s company of dancers, speaks with KUHF’s Catherine Lu. The Ballet performs works by its Artistic Director, Stanton Welch, by Twyla Tharp, and by Spanish choreographer, Nacho Duato in a mixed-repertory program to be presented in three performances this weekend at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston’s Hermann Park.  Listen Download

Omar Herrera-Arizmendi, Artist-in-Residence at the MECA community cultural center, presents Cinco on Cinco, a program of solo piano works by Mexican composer, Manuel Ponce, written during the one hundred years that have passed since the Mexican Revolution of 1910. The recital is tonight at MECA headquarters in the old Dow School Building on Kane Street. Mr. Herrera-Arizmendi performs excerpts from his program in KUHF’s Geary Performance Studio for St. john Flynn.  Listen Download

Kara Lindsay plays the young pioneer woman who will become writer Laura Ingalls Wilder; Kevin Massey takes the role of Almanzo Wilder, who will later on become Laura’s husband … in the national tour of Little House on the Prairie, the new musical based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books, with music by British composer, Rachel Portman. The touring company is in the final three days of its run at downtown Houston’s Hobby Center, where it’s being presented by Theatre Under The Stars.  Lindsay and Massey chat with KUHF’s Bob Stevenson.  Listen Download  *Extended Interview*
