The Front Row

The Front Row, Friday, 03/26/2010

We have phone conversations with two living show-business legends today: actor-singer-dancer, Joel Grey – and pianist-composer-arranger-and-conductor, Marvin Hamlisch (pictured). They tell us about their show, From Broadway to Hollywood, which they're bringing to Jones Hall tomorrow night, courtesy of Houston's Society for the Performing Arts…

New-York-based violist, Max Mandel … and San Francisco Conservatory of Music faculty cellist, Jean-Michel Fonteneau, speak with KUHF’s Chris Johnson.   Mandel and Fonteneau join forces with another guest artist, Peabody Institute cellist-teacher, Michael Kannen, and four local string players, including Context Artistic Director, Sergiu Luca, to perform Sextets by Borodin, Martinu, Dvorák and Richard Strauss. It’s the last of this season’s Music in Context chamber-music concerts, Sunday afternoon at 4:00PM in Duncan Recital Hall at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music.  Listen Download
