Emilee Dawn Whitehurst is the Executive Director of the Rothko Chapel.   Friday evening at 7:00PM in that sanctified space, mezzo-soprano Sonja Bruzauskas, the Artistic Director of Divas World Productions, and her musical partner, pianist Rodney Waters, present the next recital in their Song Salon Series, Tonal Transcendence: Music and the Struggle for Human Rights. It’s a program of pieces written in response to the plight of people living under the burden of political oppression. Admission to the concert is free. Waters, Bruzauskas and Whitehurst gather in the Geary Performance Studio for a preview session hosted by KUHF’s St. John Flynn. Listen Download
