Kathleen Kelly is Head of Houston Grand Opera‘s Music Staff and Music Director of the HGO Studio apprenticeship program. Houston Grand Opera was the performing-arts organization that originally initiated the now-16-year tradition of an Open House to launch the new performance season in the Bayou City’s downtown arts-and-entertainment zone. Israeli composer Eitan Steinberg and his wife, singer Etty Ben-Zaken, are participants in the Schusterman Visiting Artists Program at Houston’s Jewish Community Center. They perform original compositions by Dr.Steinberg and settings of traditional Judeo-Spanish songs in Ladino, this Sunday afternoon at 4:00PM Jewish Community Center of Houston on South Braeswood, just outside the southwest corner of the Six-Ten West Loop.
