The Front Row

The Front Row, Thursday, 12/17/2008

Today, we visit with members of the cast from Texas Repertory Theatre’s third annual presentation of A Christmas Story, humorist Jean Shepherd’s hilarious reminiscence of childhood Christmas-time adventures growing up in Nineteen-Forties Indiana.

Also, we visit with the cast of the rather more serious drama currently being presented at DiverseWorks by the Nova Arts Project.  The Gate of Heaven follows two men, a Japanese-American soldier and a Jewish survivor of the Dachau prison camp, through fifty years of shared experience and a journey together in search of the elusive American dream.  Artistically, we look at the text-based drawings, mixed-media pieces and sculptural objects that Houston visual artist,  Lisa Qualls, has created for the new show, Tête-à-Tête, at the Art League Houston.
