Houston artist Jeanne Cassanova paints a picture for us of bright colors, glitter and fanciful imagery that is inspired by her New Orleans background, and which she has created in the paintings that make up her one-woman exhibition, In the Wake of the Awake, currently on view at the Joan Wich and Company Gallery. The graduate of UH’s Painting Program speaks with Catherine Lu about her inspiration and her work. Listen. The Masquerade Theater will open its new production of Forever Plaid, a show about a fictional vocal quartet, Forever Plaid, who have been given a second chance to jump-start their budding career, after it was cute short by a tragic vehicle accident. The theatre’s founding Artistic Director Phillip Duggins, and the four singer-actors from his company who play the members of Forever Plaid, joined Bob Stevenson for a preview of the show.
