Franghiz Ali-Zadeh is an Azerbaijani composer, conductor and pianist who is known for her collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project and for her work with the Kronos Quartet. She will play a recital at the University of St. Thomas and talks about her music and plays an example of it for KUHF’s Chris Johnson.  Listen.  Download.

Musicians from Mercury Baroque perform excerpts from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. The early music ensemble will collaborate with Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre for one-performance-only this Saturday evening in the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Mercury Baroque will present a staged version this Sunday afternoon at the University of Houston Clear Lake.  Listen.  Download.
