We hear about two world premieres today . . . two very different world premieres: “Tuna Does Vegas” is the newest satirical revue from the talented Greater Tuna guys, and “Al Andulus” is Dancepatheatre’s new creation, combining contemporary dance with medieval & modern music.
We enjoy a performance from last season by the early-music ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston. Director Matthew Dirst (organ), lutenist Richard Savino & cellist Barrett Sills perform Giuseppe Maria Jacchini’s Sonata for Cello & Continuo. Listen Download
Dancepatheatre offers a preview of Al Andulus. Artistic Director & choreographer Sara Draper, musical director & composer Sharon Joy and singer Ryan Villaverde perform for, and chat with, Bob Stevenson. The world premiere will be this Saturday at 8pm at Barnevelder Theater. Listen Download *Extented Interview*
Producer Bob Stevenson talks with wacky writer-actor-comedians Jaston Williams & Joe Sears, and “meets” some of their new characters in Tuna Does Vegas, in performance at Galveston’s Grand 1894 Opera House. Listen Download
