Pianist Adam Tendler stopped by the KUHF Performance Studio to give listeners a sample the program of American music he is playing in all 50 states this year. . .

Pianist Adam Tendler is a native of rural Vermont and graduate of the Indiana School of Music. Over the past year he has been touring the United States with a program of American music which he has now performed in 48 of the 50 states. He’ll conclude his America 88X50toursoon in his home state and finds himself in Houston this week for a Friday evening recital at MECA, 1900 Kane St. It’s at 8:00 and more information is at http://www.mecahouston.org/. Tenor Marcus Haddock makes his HGO debut in the role of Don Jose in the current production of Carmen. Performances run through May 2nd in the Wortham Center. Finally, KUHF’s Bob Stevenson sat down with Artistic Director Allen Hightower of the Houston Masterworks Chorus. They gave a call to ara Carpetyan, the founding director of the ensemble, to talk about that organizations mission and history on the occaision of it’s 20th Anniversary season finale. The Houston Masterworks Chorus presents a performance Mozart’s Requiem in conjunction with the Sam Houston State University Choir and Orchestra this Saturday at 7:30 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Ln.
