Volunteer Opportunities




Houston Public Media seeks enthusiastic people to support the station. Not only will you help bring quality programming to the greater Houston area, you get to meet others that share in your cultural interests. There are many ways to become involved.

 Membership drives:Volunteers staff the phone banks; serve as front desk greeters, meal assistants, and provide other administrative tasks. Phone volunteers must be computer savvy and have good hearingsince we use headsets and laptops to enter this information. Check the calendar for scheduling information.

Office/Administrative: Volunteers give the membership team a hand with ongoing administrative tasks such as mail preparation, phone calls and other duties. Click to add yourself to the call list

Community and Educational Outreach: Volunteers help out at events all around the city such as, the Children’s Festival, Artful Thursday at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Moth StorySlam, and many others. Please check the calendar for a schedule of Houston Public Media events.

Houston Public Media seeks groups to support the station. Volunteering not only provides service hours for employees and organization members, but also visibility about your organization’s dedication to community support.

Corporate and Organization Groups: Volunteers staff the phone banks during Houston Public Media’s membership drives. Each group receives on-air recognition. Meals and training are provided. For radio drives we require at least five members and for TV drives we require at least 15. Check the calendar for available nights.
