Dance HoustonThis weekend at the Hobby Center, Dance Houston presents its fourth annual celebration of diversity in movement, with performances by seventeen local dance troupes that cover the spectrum from traditional folk and old-world ballroom dancing to post-modernist contemporary dance, jazz and hip-hop.ξKUHF's Alison Young talked with the directors of three of the participating companies, beginning with Shawn Welling, founder and chief director of Planet Funk.ξ His dancers have performed in half-time shows for the N-F-L, N-H-L and the Houston Rockets' 1994 N-B-A World Championship games ...
