Author Paul MalmontThe science-fiction interplanetary explorer. . .the hard boiled detective. . .the horse riding preserver of law and order. . .and the superhero where all spawned in the cheesy yellow pages of pulp novels of the 1930's. Ravaged by the devastation of the Great Depression, Americans turned to these inexpensive, hastily-written, fictional pot-boilers for relief, entertainment, for hope and for role-models. Now, a first-time novelist, Paul Malmont, has revived the genre in the 21st Century - in spades! - with his new book The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril. Mr. Malmont will talk about and sign copies of his new book this evening at 6:30 at Murder by the Book, 2342 Bissonnet.ξHe spoke about it on today's edition TFR with KUHF's Rod Rice.ξAudio here.
