Defense attorney Daniel Petrocelli has maintained that the case againstformer Enron CEO Jeff Skilling is based on circumstantial evidence, andhe's been distancing his client from the self-confessed crimes of formerCFO Andy Fastow.
"...a lawful enterprise."
Fastow said former chief accountant Richard Causey obtained Skilling'sapproval of deals which help Enron manipulate its earnings, hidden frominvestors and employees. He said there is no record of conversations withSkilling making secret side deals.
