So too is the carousel. The three-day auction starts Friday at the former park. The rides will be on the block on Saturday. Astroworld closed its doors in October after 37 years. Not all rides will be for sale, many have been moved to other Six Flags parks. The rules and regulations of the auction are posted on an auction web site.

Oklahoma City-based Six Flags Incorporated had operated the park since 1975. Six Flags officials opted to sell the 109-acre site rather than make additional investments during a time of dwindling attendance. A real estate agent said he expects the parcel, which sits across the street from Reliant Stadium, will be split up and developed for a myriad of uses.
