Simone Dinnerstein Plays Bach in the Geary Studio

Dinnerstein will perform all 15 of Bach’s Inventions on her recital this evening, along with Nico Muhly's You Can't Get There From Here (written for Simone in 2012), George Crumb's Eine Kleine Mitternachtmusik (Ruminations on 'Round Midnight by Thelonious Monk), and Beethoven’s Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111.  She chose to combine these works on this program because they all explore time and counterpoint, in different ways.

Seated at the Steinway in the Geary Studio she performs 5 of Bach’s Inventions, and talks about her love of the music of J.S. Bach, and about her “Bachpacking” education project.

The audio producer for these performances in the Geary Studio was Todd Hulslander.
