Franchise Expo South Relocates To Houston From Miami

Franchise Expo South draws would-be business owners from across the South and Southwest, as well as Latin America. The convention is making Houston its new home after eight years in Miami.

Tom Portesy is president of MFV Expositions, which produces the event.

“When markets are growing, both in business and residential in the way that Houston is, they need an infrastructure of small businesses to support that. So it just makes a ton of sense for us to move the show from Miami to Houston to take advantage of that.”

This year, Franchise Expo South will feature more than 200 exhibitors, representing sectors as diverse as furniture rental and kickboxing gyms. Portesy says the investment levels for participating business range from more than $1 million to as little as $5,000.

The event runs February 6-8 at Reliant Center.
