Medical student Gelareh Bagherzadeh was shot outside her home on January 16th of this year.
She lived at the 800 block of Augusta Drive, between Memorial and the Galleria area. An upscale spot not known for crime and perhaps it’s the reason Bagherzadeh’s murder remains such a mystery. And it’s why the Houston Police Department need’s all the help they can get says Sergeant J. C. Padilla.

"There’s no motives in the shooting and we’re considering everything and we’re not ruling out anything. The more and more that we talk to people and that we investigate the more we realize that we need the community’s help."
Aside from some calls to the police on the evening of the murder no one has stepped forward with any information. Now Crime Stoppers and some private sources are offering up to $200,000 for any tip that might lead to catching the killer. At least her family and her brother Ali Bagherzadeh hopes so.
"There should be somebody out there just one person at least knows besides whoever did this. I want to sincerely ask you to bring my family to closure."
A large reward was offered in a Clear Lake murder case in 2003, which led to a conviction.
Bagherzadeh’s family hopes this $200,000 reward will do the same.
If anyone has any information they can give it anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, text TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or online at crime-stoppers.org.
