This weekend we'll explore music from TV that evokes magical and mythical stories. Television soundtracks have evolved to a point where they are now strong competitors for their big brother film scores. Where in the past electronics would play a big part in the score, now studios are utilizing full orchestras and using the music as a strong narrative component. We will feature music by Bear McCreary, Rob Lane and Rohan Stevenson, and Mark Isham. All these composers have found an incredible way to depict rather old and retold stories; giving them a fresh new approach. Join Brad Sayles this Saturday at 8pm and again Sunday at 5pm on Classical 91.7.
