Houston drivers are now paying an average of 3.86 a gallon. That's down about two cents from last week, and it's lower than the national average of 3.89. GasBuddy.com analyst Greg Laskoski says prices are starting to stabilize after weeks of dramatic spikes. But as to where they'll go next, Laskoski says there's still volatility in the market and a lot depends on the price of crude.
"They're trading at about 103 dollars or maybe just below it, 103 dollars a barrel today. We're going to be watching also the negociations concering Iran's nuclear program."
Houstonians are paying much less than drivers in other big cities. Commuters in New York, LA, and Chicago are paying on average well over four dollars a gallon.
