Target began remodeling its Houston stores two years ago to accommodate larger grocery departments. It’s now offering a range of Christmas specialties.
“This time of year is extremely busy.”
Andrea McCauley is a spokeswoman for Target. She says the new one-stop shopping layout is paying off.
“Moms don’t necessarily have the time to go to different stores to pick up grocery items, and then go to a different store for their toys and their different gift selections. With Houston having those 23 stores with groceries and all of our other general merchandise under a single roof, it’s been a tremendous holiday season.”
McCauley says tablet computers have been among the hottest selling gifts this year — notably LeapFrog’s LeapPad for kids and Amazon’s Kindle Fire for older siblings and parents.
