The service, operated by Continental Airlines, links the two energy capitals on a route which no other airline currently serves. Mary Clark is a spokesperson for United Continental.
“The new flights will offer convenient, nonstop access to Lagos from travelers from the energy sector in Houston and also from Houston’s large Nigerian community to Lagos, and it will reduce roundtrip travel time between the two cities by more than six hours, which offers a big time savings over the current options that are available.”
Flying times on the new route are approximately 11½ hours eastbound to Nigeria and 13½ hours westbound to Houston.
Lagos is Nigeria’s economic and commercial center, while Nigeria is Africa’s biggest oil exporter.
