About seventy thousand visitors are at this week's Offshore Technology Conference, one of the world's largest energy events. And OTC Chairman Susan Cunningham says the massive oil spill in the Gulf is top of mind, with many companies actively taking a second look at their safety policies.

"I think again, the opportunity to talk about it here, with your colleagues and the different kinds of companies that offer different sorts of services actually, what people are interested in doing."

And Cunningham says the focus has changed.

"I think it's just changed the conversation so that it's focused more on safety and environmental impact than it would have been in previous years."

Cunningham says this year's event features more exhibit space than past meetings, with many exhibitors displaying the latest in alternative offshore energy, such as wind and wave power.
