The Godmother of Punk-Rock, poet, singer-songwriter and visual artist, Patti Smith, reads excerpts from the coming-of-age story that is her 20-year relationship with the late photographic artist, Robert Mapplethorpe. She also perform some of her poems and songs in a program presented by Voices Breaking Boundaries. KUHF's Meghan Hendley speaks with Gilbert Vicario, who curated the official FotoFest exhibition, Media-Nation: Performing For the Screen, and Daniel Joseph Mart’_nez, one of the artists whose photography or photo-related art is included in the show.ξMister Mart’_nez's pieces, and work by two other participating artists, are on view in the portion of the exhibition that's housed at the New World Museum on Center Street near the Memorial Park Golf Course.ξThe rest of the Media-Nation exhibition is on display at the headquarters of the Art League Houston on Montrose Boulevard and at the Inman Gallery Annex in the Isabella Court building on Main Street in Mid-Town.ξThe three exhibitions run only through this Sunday, April 25th.ξξξListen Download
