21st Annual AIDS Walk Hits The Streets this Sunday

"Nationally, we have about a million people infected with HIV-AIDS, and the frightening thing is one in four of those people, do not know they are infected, which puts all of us at risk."

Toby Stark is with the AIDS foundation Houston. She says of the estimated 25,000 people in Houston living with HIV, 75-percent are minorities.
"We are seeing increased infection rates among minorities, young people, as well as women. In fact, here in Harris County, of all the young people who have HIV or AIDS, 36-percent are women."

The walk begins at 10am, with registration starting at 8am. Participation is free, but donations raised help Houstonians living with, or at risk for, HIV-AIDS. ξ
