KUHF's Dean Dalton speaks with Dr. Duncan Copp, the astrophysicist and film-maker commissioned by the Houston Symphony to assemble a video out of NASA's and the Jet Propulsion Lab's latest high-definition digital images of the planets of our solar system.ξHis film will be projected above the Jones Hall stage while the Symphony and Music Director Hans Graf perform Gustav Holst's 1918 orchestral suite, The Planets.ξThe world-premiere performances of this multi-media concert event, The Planets — An HD Odyssey, are this Thursday and Saturday night at 8:00PM, and Sunday at 2:30PM and 7:30PM. Nicholas Kitchen and Khristopher Tong are the violinists with the Boston-based Borromeo String Quartet; they speak with KUHF's Catherine Lu.ξOn their Houston Friends of Music recital tonight atξ8:00PM in Stude Concert Hall at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, the Borromeos play Quartets by Bart’_k, Webern and Schumann.ξListen Download

The White Oak Trio performs premieres by David Bernstein and Houston composer, Mary Carol Warwick, and 20th Century works for piano trio by Samuel Barber, Paul Schoenfield, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich on the next Foundation for Modern Music concert, Musique Artistique.
