Houston's Saint John's School presents pianist Antonio di Cristofano in recital.ξHe performs solo keyboard works of Chopin, Brahms and Schumann this evening atξ7:30PM in the School's Tatham Fine Arts Center on the southeast corner of the intersection of Westheimer Boulevard and Buffalo Speedway.ξAdmission is free. Mercury Baroque, under the leadership of its Artistic Director, Antoine Plante, inaugurates itsξ9th season with the program, The Royal Fireworks, featuring large-ensemble works by the four leading German composers of the final years of the Baroque Era: George Frideric Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, and Johann Friedrich Fasch.ξThe concert will be presented twice: tonight atξ8:00PM at the University of Houston - Clear Lake on Bay Area Boulevard next to the Johnson Space Center ... and Saturday evening ... also atξ8:00PM ... in the Cullen Theater of downtown Houston's Wortham Center.
