Catherine Lu hosts aξsession from KUHF's Geary Performance Studio with Houston-born concert pianist, Richard Dowling, owner-proprietor of Dowling Music.ξξBay Area Music Teachers and the Gulf Coast Music Association presents Richard Dowling in concert, together with his frequent performing and recording partner, cellist Evan Drachman, grandson and musical heir of the celebrated 20th-century cellist Gregor Piatigorsky.ξMr. Drachman is the founder and Artistic Director of The Piatigorsky Foundation.ξTheir recital is this Friday evening atξ7:30PM at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church. At ceremonies to be held tonight here in the Bayou City, Los-Angeles-based media artist, Doug Aitken, will be named the winner of the ninth annual Aurora Award for achievement in the media arts, presented by Houston's micro-cinema, the Aurora Picture Show.ξMr. Aitken's works, Sleepwalkers and Migration, will be screened for the first time in Houston at the Awards Ceremony.ξHe chats with KUHF's St. John Flynn about his work and the award.
