Robert Schumann's Piano Quartet in E-flat.ξThat recital is tomorrow evening atξ7:30PM in the Cullen Theater of downtown Houston's Wortham Center.ξTitled The Romantic Spirit, the concert launches Da Camera's season-long exploration of the various guises Romanticism has taken in Western music of the past three hundred years.ξOn his way to rehearsal, Rhodes stopped by the KUHF Studios for a conversation with Chris Johnson. The Moores School of Music, in collaboration with the University of Houston's Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, continues its three-day festival, Damaged Romanticism:ξRecovered in celebration of the 70th birthday of the distinguished American composer, Joan Tower. Tonight's concert features chamber music performed by AURA - The Contemporary Music Ensemble at the Moores School of Music. Members of AURA, Director Rob Smith, guest pianist Melvin Chen and Dr. Tower gather in KUHF's Geary Performance Studio for a preview session hosted by KUHF's Chris Johnson. Listen Download

Theatre Under The Stars
presents its brand-new production of the stage version of the musical, Meet Me In Saint Louis, with Lynne Wintersteller and Joseph Kolinski as Anna and Alonso, the mother and father of the Smith family, and Annaliese Van Der Pol as their teen-aged daughter, Esther, the role originally played by Judy Garland in the 1944 movie upon which the theatrical musical is based.ξThere are evening performances, Tuesdays through Sundays ... and afternoon matinees, Saturdays and Sundays ... through Octoberξ11th at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Houston.
