The registration deadline is Monday October 5th.ξ Harris County Tax Assessor/Collector and Voter Registrar Leo Vasquez says the county has tried to make registering to vote as easy as possible.
"You can, of course, go online to our website www.hcvoter.net.ξ You can pick-up a voter registration application at any of our 16 branch offices, of the tax office, spread out around the county, or public libraries, city of Houston multi-services centers and community centers and even health clinics."
The completed application must be delivered to any tax office by the end of business on Monday or, if mailed, it must be postmarked by mid-night Monday. Because there isn't time to correct mistakes he says take your time and make sure to fill out all the information correctly
Vasquez says you can also use the hcvoter-dot-net website to see if you are registered.ξ He also says you should make sure your registration information is up-to-date.
"Lots of people in Harris County have moved within the county and you are going to have to go back and vote at your old precinct if you've moved and not updated your voter registration."
You can do that too at hcvoter-dot-net. But it must also be done by Monday October 5th.
