Shepherd School of Music faculty pianist, Brian Connelly, will be joined by his Rice University colleague, violinist Sergiu Luca, the founder of the Context chamber-music series and Allen Whear, Associate Principal Cellist of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, as they play Piano Trios by Joseph Haydn on the first of this season's Context concerts, Sunday afternoon at 4:ooPM in the Shepherd School's Duncan Recital Hall.ξConnelly chats with TFR Producer Bob Stevenson about the concert and about Haydn's music. Lydia Lara and Will Morgan are the founders — and Will is the Artistic Director — of Doorman Actors Lab, Houston's newest theater troupe.ξThey play the two impoverished characters, Mae and Lloyd, respectively, in their company's inaugural production, Mud, by Maria Irene Fornes, which has been directed for the stage by our other guest, Liz Lacy. KUHF's Meghan Hendley speaks with painter, sculptor, illustrator, production-designer, art-director and puppet-maker, Wayne White, at the Rice University Gallery, where Mr. White's first-ever site-specific installation, Big Lectric Fan to Keep Me Cool While I Sleep — a tribute to country singer, George Jones — opens to the public this evening between 5:00PM and 7:00PM.ξWayne White will be there tonight, and he'll give a talk about the piece in the space tomorrow at 12:00PM.
