Christopher Wheeldon served as the New York City Ballet's first Resident Choreographer, from the Summer of 1991 until early last year.ξIn 2002, for that company's observance of the hundredth anniversary of the birth of composer Richard Rodgers, Mr. Wheeldon created the short contemporary ballet, Carousel (A Dance).ξHe is re-mounting that work for the Houston Ballet 2009 Spring Repertory Program, Of An Era.
