In this year's twenty-fifth annual Young Texas Artists Music Competition, soprano Desir’©e Alajandro won the Voice Division First Place Award and the contest's overall Grand Prize.ξViolinist Natalie Lin was Number One in the Strings Division, and took the Audience Choice Award, which also carries with it an invitation to perform as soloist with the Conroe Symphony Orchestra.ξBoth are students at the University of Houston's Moores School of Music.ξMs. Alajandro's accompanistξis Lucy Arner, Music Director of the Edythe Bates Old Moores Opera Center at the U-of-H. They all gathered in the Geary Performance Studio for a session hosted by KUHF's afternoon music host (The Afternoon Concert, M-F, 1-3PM) and YTA alumnus Chris Johnson. Listen. Download.
