Texas Military Bases Feeling The Effects Of Hurricane Harvey

Military bases in Texas are “battening down” for the impending storm.

Hurricane Harvey is threatening more than the coast.

Military bases in central Texas are preparing for high winds and heavy rain.

At Lackland air force base, in San Antonio, a number of planes and support personnel have been moved to Fort Bliss.

Major Timothy Wade says they’re battening down for the storm.

“on the base, they’re taking down a lot of the flags that are normally up because those can become dangerous with high wind. All of our vehicles and things along those lines are being moved inside of hangars.”

Planes have also been relocated from Randolph Air Force base.
